THE LEXINGTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY COLONIAL SINGERS CD RELEASE
Step into Buckman Tavern, and spend an evening in the 1700s with the Lexington Historical Society Colonial Singers, who formed in 2010 to explore the music of Britain's American colonies and who have just released their first CD, "Now Kiss the Cup!": An Evening at Buckman Tavern.
The recording session was held in the Tap Room of the historic Buckman Tavern, built in 1710, and includes tunes such as "The Little Barley-corne," "I am Athirst," "Huzzah for Liberty!" and many more!
Director Diane Taraz accompanies the group on Spanish guitar, dulcimer, and an instrument similar to the now-extinct wire-stringed "English guitar" favored by ladies. May this antique music lift your spirits!
You can purchase the CD for $15 at the Buckman Tavern Museum Shop.
