The interior of the Depot contains a large space of about 2000 square feet, two handicapped accessible bathrooms, a catering kitchen, and two small offices. The Society does not have a sound system or audiovisual equipment for use by renters. The Depot is air-conditioned and carpeted.

The Depot space can seat up to 75 people for a sit-down meal, or about 100 people seated auditorium style. The Society has 100 folding chairs, six 8’ rectangular tables, two 6’ rectangular tables and two square card tables, all of which can be used by renters. The Depot also contains a lectern.

Renters are required to do clean up, including vacuuming and removing trash. This includes the removal of recyclables and leftover food. At the conclusion of your rental, there should be nothing in the building that was not there at the beginning of your rental. All tables, chairs, dishes etc. that are brought into the Depot by the renter must be removed from the building by 9 a.m. of the following day or immediately after the function if there are back to back rentals. User will handle all arrangements concerning the delivery and pick-up of rented tables, chairs, etc. Please do not give the phone number of the Historical Society to your rental or catering company, but handle those contacts directly. Historical Society personnel will not be available for any deliveries or pick-ups.

All renters desiring food service must use a caterer or restaurant in Lexington. The Depot kitchen is to be used for the heating and serving of food, not for food preparation. Events that are open to the public may need to obtain a one-day food permit from the Town of Lexington.

This is generally provided by a caterer or through use of a licensed bartender. If you serve liquor and charge for it, or charge admission to the event, you must obtain a one-day liquor license from the Lexington Selectmen. A copy of this paperwork must be given to the Society in advance.

As part of the rental agreement, renters must supply the Historical Society with a credit card number to serve as security.
