Accessibility and Logistics 
ACCESSIBILITY
  • All properties are wheelchair accessible
  • Photography is permitted at the museums. Videography and flash photography is, however, prohibited.
  • Only service animals are allowed in the museums
  • Buckman Tavern has translations of the audio tour in: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Hebrew, Mandarin, Japanese
  • English scripts of orientation films at the Hancock-Clarke House and Munroe Tavern are available on-site
  • Restrooms are available for visitors at all properties
DIRECTIONS
Driving: Our historic houses are located in Lexington, Massachusetts, near the center of town. You can reach Lexington via Route 95/128 (exit 31A, Bedford Street/Rt. 225) and Route 2 (Waltham Street exit). Follow the signs to Lexington Center.

Public Transportation: From Boston and Cambridge (Monday – Saturday) take the MBTA subway Red Line to Alewife Station. Bus routes #76 (Hanscom Air Force Base) and #62 (Bedford VA Hospital) run to and from Alewife Station. Travel time one way is about 25 minutes. Buses run frequently during peak hours, traveling along Massachusetts Avenue and making stops in Lexington Center.

Buckman Tavern: 1 Bedford Street, Lexington, MA 02420                          

Hancock-Clarke House: 36 Hancock Street , Lexington, MA 02420

Munroe Tavern: 1332 Massachusetts Avenue , Lexington, MA 02420

The Depot (Society Headquarters): 13 Depot Square, Lexington, MA 02420
PARKING
Buckman Tavern is located off of Massachusetts Avenue and Bedford Street, across from the Lexington Battle Green. Free two-hour parking is available around the Lexington Battle Green; or, you may park behind the Lexington Depot building for $2/day.
Hancock-Clarke House has limited free parking on-site, but is also in walking distance of the Buckman Tavern, Battle Green, and center of town.
Munroe Tavern is approximately one mile east of Lexington center at 1332 Massachusetts Avenue. It has plenty of free parking, or can be reached by the Lexpress Bus leaving from the Depot building every half-hour.
