Catering, Bartending & Equipment Rental
The Town of Lexington requires a Temporary Food Permit whenever food is being served at an event that is open to the public. Renters should contact the Lexington Office of Public Health at 781-698-4533 for further information.
Private events do not require a Temporary Food Permit.
We encourage renters to use Lexington caterers. Please consider:
To serve alcohol of any type at public and private events, a bartender must be hired and a Certificate of Liability Insurance (COI) must be submitted prior to picking up the Depot key.
If renters are selling alcohol at their event, or if it is an event where an admission fee is charged and alcohol is being served, renters must obtain a Certificate from the Town of Lexington for a one-day liquor license in addition to the COI. Renters must apply for this in advance, as the license will be issued by the Town's Select Board. This process can take a week or more.
