Since 1886, Lexington Historical Society has been the premier interpreter of the events of April 1775, and the faithful steward of all of Lexington’s history through time. We preserve and protect extensive collections and three house museums - Buckman Tavern, Munroe Tavern, and Hancock-Clarke House. Through tours, exhibits, lectures, book club, special events, school programs, and summer camp, we honor, share, and celebrate the stories of all of Lexington’s citizens.

Lexington Historical Society is a non-profit organization that does not receive funding from the government. That means we rely on donations from individuals and organizations to keep our doors open. In 2019, over 500 individuals, families, businesses, and foundations made donations to the Society. Their generous support makes our work possible. Thank you!
